Examining the Structure Shaping Methods of Plasticity Through the Creative Concept and Its Effects Connected to Various Surfaces
My thesis focuses on various aspects of structure shaping methods of plasticity in 20th-century and contemporary art, exploring the relationship between the creative concept and the materials manipulated. I examine the possibilities inherent in surface manipulation through the tactile sensation of three-dimensional, structured surfaces, exploring how they relate to the creative process, the underlying content, and additional meanings associated with the subject. I analyse the work of Simon Hantai, Vera Molnár, and Magdalena Abakanowicz in terms of three-dimensional material shaping and manipulation. Additionally, I explore the significance of the Velem Textile Art Studio in regards to three-dimensional autonomous textiles.
