Are You What You Wear?
Self-Expression Through Fashion
In my thesis, I examine how we use clothing as a way to express our personality and how, as an audience, we form perceptions of others, even entire groups, based on their attire. The main concepts related to the topic are fashion and style, as well as stereotypes and prejudice.
By reflecting on their own fashion choices, I conduct empirical research among MOME students with a textile specialisation to explore how the next generation of fashion designers approach conscious visual communication and sustainable fashion.
