Timeless Architecture
Architecture as the Stage for Human Life Events
In writing this thesis, my goal is to acquire a comprehensive mindset that intuitively aims to place the wholeness of human existence at the centre of architectural design. To achieve this, I examine the human-focused spatial theories of the 1950s and 1960s, in which a new interpretation of space emerged that was completely contrary to the prevailing spirit of the time, and aimed to better understand the deeper spatial needs of humans. According to the theories of space outlined in the thesis, if we consider architectural space as the backdrop for human-created events, and view humans as beings that establish continuous communication with their environment through their bodies, we come increasingly closer to the possibilities of authentic spatial formation and, consequently, to examples of timeless architecture.
