In my thesis I examine why kitsch is becoming increasingly trendy in popular culture and explore whether there is a connection between this growing tendency and the phenomenon of burnout. In the dissertation, I presented the historical context of kitsch, the points of connection between camp and kitsch, and how the relationship between individuals and objects is transforming in the new digital age.
