Queer Representation in Contemporary Hungarian Art
My thesis examines the contemporary art scene in Hungary within a queer context, with a particular emphasis on the absence of representation. I explore its evolution, the reasons behind it, and the potential opportunities for queer art within the discourse of contemporary art. I illustrate my research through the example of queer artistic initiatives of the past decade, using specific artworks that provide a comprehensive overview of the atmosphere in Hungary surrounding queer art and reflect the diversity of representation.
