From Dance to Animation: Transforming Physical Motion
In my thesis, I aim to explore the conceptual background for my diploma work, which is an experimental animated dance film. The topic of the investigation is based on the following questions: how the physical elements of dance could be expressed in dance films and also in animation films, and how these different visual media transform them.

The Act of Breathing
It is an animated dance film, the concept of which evolves around physical and emotional behaviour of breathing. This vital living function is expressed with an artificial and yet organic material, plastic and a human body. The film questions the meaning of our body’s existence and our motivation for movements as dance, and what it means to physically be “alive” on screen.
