Court – The Visual Elements of Justice
In my thesis, I am examining the visual elements connected to the functioning of the judicial system and the appearance of power in various judicial institutions. Considering the spatial and physical assets that illustrate power, I am dealing with sacrality, authority, demonstration of the authority and the struggle for that as well. At the same time, regarding the notions of dignity and authority I am focusing on questions such as whether they are in danger, or whether the dignity of people is damaged in order to maintain power. Who and to what level can be affected by these in the system?

Judiciary justice is a state activity that affects the lives of all people. The system has created its own, separate world, which is an interesting sample of our state organization and its organizational functioning. My photos are about the visual elements of the justice system's work, regarding how power is demonstrated in the courts. The aim of my work is to stay away from the presentation of the commonplace elements familiar from the news and movies, but to reveal the visuality demonstrating the system in the everyday activity of courts.
