New Dimensions of Garment Design in the Digital Era
In my thesis, I am presenting new dimensions of garment design in the digital era, featuring the latest wearable technology innovations. I am reviewing and cataloguing the current technology trends, and I am summarising the initial reactions of fine arts and design. I am redefining the role of garment, which can extend the spectrum of human perception, bringing balance to the hierarchy of our sensory modalities.

Interknitting
My masterwork demonstrates how a garment can act as a filter to extend our interaction from human to outside world, human to technology, and human to human, using the foundation of our human senses. It uses the newest technological innovations, (microprocessors, sensors and outputs), which are integrated into the material, using specially knitted structures. The garment then becomes a flexible interface, covering and flowing the human body, and creating the opportunity to activate different senses, which can lead to a deeper understanding of our multimodal perception.
